What is the 3-in-1 Certificate Program?
It is a new option for students unable to commit to a full designation program. BOMI is offering a Facilities Management Certificate (FMC) and Property Administrator Certificate (PAC) in three classes to be completed in any offering (accelerated review, self-study or on-line) within a one year period. Three classes in one year earns you a certificate as well as an introduction into both the RPA and FMA programs as your credits (and your fee) are transferable!
Property Administrator Certificate (PAC) is a program that provides information property and facility mangers need to manage the ongoing operation and maintenance of building systems and to maximize building efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The program will also feature applications and problems you can use to create building and facilities' budgets. This certificate program provides 3 core courses required to complete your RPA.

Educational Programs for the Commercial Property Industry
The Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI) has set educational standards in the commercial property industry through the Real Property Administrator (RPA), the Facilities Management Administrator (FMA), the Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT) and Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA) designation programs.
The RPA designation may be right for you if you:
- Manage a commercial building for a property management firm, developer, or corporation
- Strive to maximize the net income of an owner's properties while minimizing risks
- Serve as the main "customer" contact, whether the customer is an owner or a tenant
- Need to meet an owner's expectations for the short-term and long-term financial performance of a property
- Work hand-in-hand with portfolio and asset managers to enhance the value of properties
- Represent the building owner in working with various professional services, including legal, architectural, and insurance
- Lease and market space
- Approve annual operating budgets
- Compose and/or implement a risk management program
- Need to understand critical operational issues such as life-cycle costing, preventive maintenance, and energy management
The FMA designation may be right for you if you:
- Manage facilities for a company or an organization that manufactures a product or provides non-real estate services as its primary business
- Strive to create a productive work environment that fosters staff performance
- Need to maintain quality work environments while being held financially accountable
- Want to ensure that buildings reflect the organization's culture, in addition to maintaining and operating them in the most cost-efficient manner
- Control overall work flow through interior space utilization and incorporation of new technologies
- Want to justify facilities expenditures as investments on which your organization can expect a return
- Work with architects, engineers, and construction companies

- Need to ensure the comfort and safety of personnel within a facility
